Director and Senior Tutor
Emily is a fully qualified teacher with over a decade of experience across a wide range of age groups and learning contexts. She has taught learners from New Entrant to Intermediate level across the curriculum, and has also worked with high school students as a Digital Technologies specialist. In 2021, she served as a Director of Online Learning, leading digital education initiatives and supporting students in virtual learning environments.
Emily has a particular interest in the intentional use of digital technology to enhance learning. She holds a Certificate in Digital and Collaborative Learning and was recognised as an Apple Distinguished Educator in 2017 for her innovative use of technology. She is passionate about helping students become masters of technology rather than letting it master them, emphasising digital citizenship, media balance, and the thoughtful use of tools to deepen understanding, foster creativity, and support meaningful learning.
Passionate about helping children discover and grow their unique gifts, Emily loves supporting learners to overcome challenges and celebrating all achievements — big and small. Since stepping out of the classroom in 2022, she has worked in Kids’ Ministry at her church, provided private tutoring, and started homeschooling her own children, a 7-year-old and a 2-year-old.
Emily started Mustard Seeds Learning Co. to create a space where children are truly known, supported, and encouraged to grow. Grounded in care, strong relationships, and a love of learning, Mustard Seeds offers small-group and individualised learning experiences that nurture each child’s gifts, celebrate progress, and help them flourish academically, socially, and spiritually.
Her teaching is grounded in strong relationships, responsive practice, and a genuine commitment to each child’s individual learning journey. She works closely with families to create learning experiences where children feel known, supported, and encouraged to flourish.
